ABOUT PENDULUM SURVEYING

​​Pendulum Surveying is one of the most reputable surveying companies in the East Texas area. However, veteran surveyor and owner, Shawn Billings, has deep roots in East Texas and has been licensed to practice professional land surveying since 2003.  Prior to earning his licensure, Shawn worked in a family operated surveying business from his youth.  With over 30 years of professional experience in a wide variety of surveying applications, Shawn continues to have a passion for land surveying.  

Shawn, in coordination with Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), is currently heading the committee to update the state plane coordinate system for the State of Texas.  The updates to this coordinate system will benefit surveyors and their clients throughout our great state.  For several years, Shawn has participated in the annual TSPS conferences as a vendor, twice as a keynote speaker and at the 2020 conference was inducted into the Board of Directors.

Shawn has been featured in American Surveyor magazine for several years as a contributing technical writer and worked closely with Dr. Javad Ashjaee and his team to develop the Triumph system.  Shawn has attended Intergeo, an international tech conference in Germany, with JAVAD GNSS to provide on-site training for dealers from around the world.

Rebecca Billings, Shawn's wife of over 25 years, serves as office manager for Pendulum Surveying.  Rebecca has over 30 years of administrative experience and assists Shawn in several areas of the surveying business.
